Carnevali warns Juve about Scamacca

Giovanni Carnevali claims Gianluca Scamacca could return to Sassuolo and warns suitors the striker can only leave on a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old is on loan at Genoa from Sassuolo until the end of the season, but he has been linked with moves to Juventus and Parma and with a possible return to the Mapei Stadium.

“There are three hours left before the end of the transfer window and we’d like to bring Scamacca back to the club,” Sassuolo’s CEO Carnevali told Sky Sport.

“We believe in his qualities, but he is a player of Genoa at the moment. It’s not easy, maybe nothing will change.”

Carnevali confirmed the interest from Juventus.

“We know how much the player is worth. Many clubs, including Juventus, have shown their interest.

“We have a project for him and Genoa can help us, also with their new coach. If the player leaves it must be on a permanent deal. No loan deals, neither with options to buy.”
