Caicedo set for Lazio exit?

Felipe Caicedo will reportedly leave Lazio in January or June, but the striker’s wife Maria Garcia has denied a dressing room bust-up with Simone Inzaghi.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the 32-year-old has a tense relationship with the Lazio coach who did not play him in Lazio’s last game of 2020 against Milan.

Inzaghi opted for Joaquin Correa to start alongside Ciro Immobile at the San Siro last week, even if the Argentinean was not fully fit.

When Correa picked up an injury after 30 minutes, the coach subbed on Vedat Muriqi, while Andreas Pereira replaced Immobile in the second half.

The report claims Caicedo’s bad behaviour could be behind his exclusion in Milan, although his wife denied on Instagram a dressing room bust-up reported by Italian outlets on Tuesday.

As per Il Corriere dello Sport, however, the Ecuadorian striker is destined to leave Lazio in the coming months. It could happen either in January or at the end of the season.

Fiorentina are being heavily linked with welcoming his services, but Igli Tare said last week Caicedo is not going to leave the Stadio Olimpico in the January transfer window.
