Brazilian President reveals truth about interest in Juventus star Di Maria

Inter de Porto Alegre President Alessandro Barcellos confirms the Brazilian club are monitoring Juventus star Angel Di Maria.

El Fideo joined the Bianconeri as a free agent in June 2022 but has been struggling with injuries this season, collecting just 457 minutes across all competitions this term.

He has signed a one-year deal at the Allianz Stadium, leaving the door open for a return to South America at the end of the season.

Although his priority appears to be a return to his childhood club Rosario Central, Brazilian side Inter de Porto Alegre are also closely monitoring the World Cup winner.

“About Di Maria, there was an interview when I was asked about several players,” said Alessandro Barcellos, President of the Brazilian club.

“I said that we were monitoring them, we need to see what the market has t offer. There is nothing concrete.

“He knows how we work, we’ve always been clear about the financial situation and at the moment, there is no negotiation for this footballer [Di Maria].”

Di Maria has one goal and four assists in 11 appearances across all competitions at a club level this season. He started against Udinese on Saturday but was replaced after 66 minutes due to a minor calf problem.

El Fideo, a former Real Madrid and Manchester United winger, scored in the World Cup Final against France in December, finding the net in the third consecutive international Final with the Albiceleste.
