Barcelona director Ariedo Braida confirmed they “like Paul Pogba” and he is impressed by the new Milan.

The former Rossoneri chief is now in charge of scouting international transfers for the Nou Camp and spoke to Gazzetta TV.

“Pogba is an interesting player with great qualities and would be useful for any team. It’s only natural everyone wants him.

“I hope he can play for Barcelona. If he were to choose a new destination, I think Barça represent an extraordinary club and project. I’d advise a lad like him to choose Barça.

“His agent Mino Raiola is an intelligent man and knows how to work well on the market. Pogba is an important player who I like and so does President Bartomeu.

“Even three years ago you could tell he had the potential to become a champion.”

Braida confirmed Barcelona “have an option on both Gerson and Kenedy” in Brazil.

He left for the Blaugrana after 27 years in various roles at Milan, so is keeping a close eye on his old club’s bids for Porto striker Jackson Martinez and Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.

“Jackson Martinez is a very strong player, a real hitman. It’s difficult to find someone with his characteristics. He’s not young, but there are few others like him around at the moment.

“He has technique, physicality and everything to be an important player. Martinez proved his worth in the Champions League and will do again.

“Kondogbia is young and has already made his mark with physique and quality. He showed he has the signs of a champion, although it won’t be easy to tear him away from Monaco.”

Milan have also approached PSG for veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who could make a return to San Siro.

“He is still a great champion and not in decline,” argued Braida. “Even though he’s 34 years old, Ibra is in exceptional shape and his technique is excellent. He is strong mentally and players like him are always important in a team.

“Milan could rely on him, as Ibra and Martinez would be an extraordinary strike partnership.”

Sinisa Mihajlovic is ready to take over as Coach of the Rossoneri.

“Sinisa is a very good Coach, a great professional and knows how to control a locker room. I think he’s ready.”
