Bonucci sends another legal note to Juventus as dispute continues

Leonardo Bonucci has sent Juventus another legal note requesting reinstatement to Massimiliano Allegri’s squad.

Page 17 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how the 36-year-old Italian centre back’s lawyer sent the club a second PEC (a legally certified email, ed.) requesting his reintroduction into the squad, unhappy with the decision to unceremoniously freeze him out of the project.

Bonucci already sent a PEC asking for reinstatement, which was rejected, and tensions have continued to grow. In a press conference yesterday, Allegri discussed the situation, noting that “Leo knows the situation” and “Juventus have been clear”.

This prompted a response on social media from the defender, who wrote on Instagram that “disrespect is not an evaluation of value, but a sign of character”.

Bonucci’s lawyer will soon appoint a respected sports jurist for the future arbitration, as laid out in the collective agreement signed by Serie A players. If he stays at the club beyond this summer, he’ll ask for reinstatement to the squad, and if he leaves, he’ll ask for damages related to his image.

Bonucci believes that the collective agreement has not been respected by Juventus and the Italian Footballers’ Association agrees with him, but the club are confident in the correctness of their actions.

The veteran centre back has been linked with moves to Union Berlin, Genoa and Lazio, but still hasn’t agreed a move yet as the summer transfer window enters its final days.
