Bernardeschi set for Toronto FC move – report

According to Toronto FC reporter Michael Singh Federico Bernardeschi will join Lorenzo Insigne and Domenico Criscito at Toronto FC once the MLS side sell Alejandro Pozuelo to Inter Miami.

The Italy international is available after his contract with Juventus expired on June 30. Bernardeschi spoke to Napoli and other Serie A clubs but hasn’t reached an agreement over his next destination.

According to Michael Singh, Bernardeschi’s new club will be in the MLS as the former Fiorentina and Juventus star is ready to join Toronto FC.

The deal will reportedly be completed once Pozuelo signs for Inter Miami. MLS clubs are allowed to sign up to three players that would be considered outside their salary cup, so Toronto need to sell before completing the signature of Bernardeschi.

The Italy international scored 22 goals in 205 Serie A appearances, delivering 26 assists. He has scored six goals in 39 appearances with Italy.

Bernardeschi would join his compatriots Lorenzo Insigne and Domenico Criscito in Canada, who signed with the club after their contracts with Napoli and Genoa expired.
