Belotti agrees Roma contract, waiting for Shomurodov

Andrea Belotti has agreed a three-year contract with Roma, which can be signed once Eldor Shumorodov has completed his move to Bologna.

The former Torino striker has been a free agent since his contract expired on June 30 and was linked with numerous clubs, though negotiations never seemed to get particularly far.

The notable exception has been Roma, with multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more all claiming Il Gallo has agreed a three-year contract worth an initial €2.8m per season plus performance-related bonuses.

That figure will rise year on year and Belotti was convinced by Jose Mourinho, who had already wanted the Italian in his squad when he was in charge of Tottenham Hotspur.

Belotti can only join after Shomurodov has been released, and that situation will come to a head tomorrow when Bologna meet with the Roma chiefs.

It is likely to be a loan with option to buy, set at a figure of €8-10m.

Roma want to make it an obligation, so it could be written in as such if certain circumstances are achieved during the campaign.
