Bayern agree personal terms with De Ligt – report

Bayern Munich are moving closer to completing a deal for defender Matthijs de Ligt, with reports in Italy suggesting they have agreed personal terms.

The Netherlands international seems certain to leave Juventus this summer and, after initial reported interest from from Chelsea, it appears Bayern are his likeliest destination.

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić was recently in Turin to discuss a deal for De Ligt with Juve.

And Fabrizio Romano reports that the German side have now agreed personal terms with the player, meaning a deal with Juve is all that is needed to complete the transfer.

De Ligt joined Juve from Ajax in 2019 after helping the Dutch side to an unlikely Champions League semi-final, which included victory over Juve in the last eight.

In Turin, he has won a league title, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa.

However, Juve have struggled to make progress in the Champions League, facing elimination at the hands of Lyon, Porto and Villarreal since De Ligt’s arrival.
