However, speculation in some sections of the media has been that club hierarchy, from President Silvio Berlusconi down, are open to his sale this summer, in order to raise funds for other transfer work.
Today’s edition of the Corriere dello Sport reiterates that the club are looking to offload him to make at least €10m in cash, cover a remaining balance of €20m due to Manchester City for his January 2013 purchase and offload his wages, which are due to cost a further €30m gross over the next three years.
The Rome-based publication also suggest that the Diavolo’s motives include wanting to ‘brighten the atmosphere at Milanello’.
It is believed that the Rossoneri are already working with Balotelli’s representative Mino Raiola on a solution.
Monaco continue to be listed as an interested party ready to pay the €30m asking price, but the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal are seen as potential bidders too.
