A proposed transfer to Marseille has stalled amid a dispute over his contract, while his agent Mino Raiola is also thought to be demanding a high commission fee.

Taking part in a question and answer session on his official Instagram account, the 27-year-old revealed he has always had a soft spot for the San Paolo side and would be open to joining them.

“Because I have my daughter who is half Neopolitan,” Balotelli began in response to a question asking the reasons behind his affection for the Partenopei.

“I fell in love with a Neopolitan girl, I love Neopolitans, I love Napoli fans, I love Napoli. And I loved Maradona.

“Would I come to Napoli? These questions aren’t going to the right person! Ask De Laurentiis.”

Balotelli has reignited his career in the south of France, following troubled spells at Liverpool and Milan.

His 26 goals in all competitions last season helped him secure a recall to the Italy squad in June.
