First of all, Ausilio was asked about the visit of Kwadwo Asamoah’s agent Federico Pastorello to Inter HQ.

“Pastorello came to ask for tickets, but if I say that, nobody believes me! He is a friend, he is in the stands with his father and while here to pick up the tickets we had a chat over coffee about our situations, so Antonio Candreva, Yuto Nagatomo, and all the situations will be sorted out after the end of the season.”

Luciano Spalletti’s men have failed to find the net in each of their last three Serie A matches.

“I’d be more worried if we didn’t create scoring opportunities or get close to the goal. If you often get into the right positions and do so relatively easily, but don’t put it into the net, there’s a lot of luck in that along with the usual issues of determination and attacking intent.

“That doesn’t mean we don’t need to improve, but Candreva, Marcelo Brozovic, Roberto Gagliardini and Matias Vecino have always scored goals, so it’s not an issue.

“Against Torino we had 19 chances, hit the woodwork twice, so the team got into the positions it needed to be in.”

The Nerazzurri missed a golden opportunity to close on Roma and Lazio, who drew 0-0 in the derby, because they too were held by Atalanta at the weekend.

“Inter are often criticised, but people forget we are having the campaign we were supposed to have. We’re in the running for a top four finish, we’re one point off third place, so we are on track.

“When you realise Lazio-Inter is the final game, there are difficulties on both sides. We’ll try to give our best and hopefully not reach that match as a decisive moment, but if it comes to that, we’ll be ready on May 20.”
