Arnautovic agent confirms Manchester United bid

Marko Arnautovic’s agent confirms Manchester United have made an offer and they are pushing Bologna to accept. ‘We’re in contact to see if it can be realised.’

The centre-forward has emerged as the prime transfer target for new manager Erik ten Hag, as he already worked with Manchester United assistant manager Steve McClaren at FC Twente.

That season he scored 14 goals and provided eight assists in 41 competitive games.

“It’s true that there’s a bid from a well-known club,” brother and agent Danijel Arnautovic told Kurier in Austria.

“I am in contact with Bologna to see if it can be realised.”

Sky Sport Italia report that Bologna have already rejected the opening offer of €8m plus another €1-2m in add-ons.

The Rossoblu have been adamant they do not want to sell Arnautovic with just a week to go before the start of the Serie A season.

He had also been linked with a potential transfer to Juventus this summer and again that was rebuffed.

The 33-year-old rediscovered his form at Bologna after spending time at Shanghai SIPG, scoring 13 Serie A goals last season, plus one in the Coppa Italia.

His contract at the Stadio Dall’Ara runs to June 2024 and it’s likely Bologna will only sell if they have a replacement lined up.

He was purchased for only €3m plus €1m in add-ons.
