Massimiliano Allegri has reiterated that his Milan side must concentrate against Arsenal on Tuesday, but admits that the Rossoneri ‘can do well this year’.

Ahead of the Last 16 second leg meeting between the London side and the Rossoneri at the Emirates stadium, Allegri repeated his earlier message that his players must concentrate, despite being 4-0 up on aggregate.

“We will play the game with great attention. We have an advantage, but we have to take to the field as we did in the first leg, but also in a better way.

“It will be harder than the first leg, tomorrow. But, we have grown up. The important thing is to score goals. One thing is for certain – the Gunners will face the same intensity as they did in the first leg.

“We won’t find the team that we beat at San Siro. They will be motivated and after wins against Tottenham and Liverpool they will be even stronger.

“I think we will play with three strikers [on Tuesday], in midfield I have three midfielders available, whilst [Alberto] Aquilani has recently been training with the group again.”

However, at the Press conference on Monday evening, Allegri was also taken to task by journalists for comments made that Milan will be competitive in ‘two to three years’.

“Will it take three years to win the Champions League? I only said that this team is under construction, tomorrow night we will have the opportunity to reach the quarter-finals, then we will see.

“We can do well this year – it takes a bit of luck otherwise you cannot recover if you go wrong in a game.”
