Allegri makes Juventus line-up decision amid midfield injury crisis

With Manuel Locatelli unlikely to be available for Sunday’s Serie A game against Inter, Massimiliano Allegri will likely use Adrien Rabiot as a deep-lying playmaker with Weston McKennie and Fabio Miretti in central midfield.

Juventus prepare to host Inter at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on Sunday night, but Allegri is dealing with an injury crisis in midfield.

Locatelli sustained a broken rib against Cagliari before the break and has been training apart at Continassa.

According to Tuttosport, the Italy international is unlikely to be available for the Derby d’Italia, so Allegri will predictably play Rabiot as a Regista, with Miretti and McKennie completing Juventus midfield.

Miretti is also not fully fit having recently returned to group training following low back pain. Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, the only other central midfielder available for Juventus, will start on the bench.

Timothy Weah and Danilo are also expected to miss the game against Inter, so Andrea Cambiaso could start as a right wing-back with Filip Kostic on the opposite flank.

Allegri will provide the latest team news ahead of Sunday’s game against Inter during a pre-match press conference on Saturday.
