Allegri: ‘Juventus have done nothing’

Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri warns “we haven’t done anything yet”, ahead of the Champions League showdown with Real Madrid.

The Bianconeri are in the Coppa Italia final, and took a four point lead at the top of Serie A at the weekend.

Tonight they take on the side which beat them in last year’s Champions League final, as they look to reach the semis for the third time in four years.

Tonight they take on the side which beat them in last year’s Champions League final, as they look to reach the semis for the third time in four years.

“I think Juventus are doing something important this year too,” Allegri told Premium Sport.

“We haven’t done anything yet though, because we haven’t won the League yet, we haven’t won the Coppa Italia nor the Champions League.

“We have three fronts where we’ll try to bring home as much as possible, and that should be a point of pride for everyone.

“In the Champions League, in a two-legged tie, three points don’t count. You just have to have the better goal difference over the tie.

“The main objective remains the League, the Champions League is a competition that we play to win, knowing that we can’t make any mistakes in two-legged matches.

“In the Quarter-Finals you play the strongest teams and the favourites. This year Real Madrid are there, Barcelona are there, Bayern Munich are there, Manchester City are there – they’re the favourites to lift the trophy.

“We have to be good and try to do everything we can to get to the end.”

Allegri said in his post-match Press conference that he’d watched the Cardiff final again many times, does he now understand what went wrong in the second half?

“I didn’t watch it again with my players many times, poor things. They don’t have to review every match.

“After it went to 2-1 we checked out of the game, we made a mistake mentally and not technically, because we needed to stay in the game.

“The game could have been reopened with a bit of calm.”
