Aarhus confirm Inter talks for Bisseck with official statement

Danish Superliga club Aarhus have confirmed via an official statement on their club website that they are in negotiations with Inter over the transfer of defender Yann Bisseck.

The German centre-back, who recently represented his nation at the U21 EUROs in Georgia and Romania, has a release clause written into his current contract worth €7m.

It is understood from recent reports that Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has already met with the player’s representatives and that the move is all but a done-deal.

The statement released by Aarhus on Monday afternoon read: “AGF has entered into official negotiations with Serie A club Inter – full name FC Internazionale Milano – regarding the sale of the contract rights for defender Yann Aurel Bisseck.

“A potential transfer assumes that the Italian club decides to use a release clause of 52 million DKK (roughly €7m), added to which are the extra costs and write-downs for AGF.

“When the outcome of the negotiations has been decided, further information will be made available.”

Bisseck began his career with Bundesliga outfit 1.FC Koln, making a series of loan moves across Europe before landing at Aarhus on a temporary deal in 2021. His move was made permanent for just €670,000 last summer.

The 22-year-old has gone on to score six goals in 68 appearances with his club, eventually finishing third in the Superligaen in 2022-23.

Bisseck’s arrival compensates for the loss of Milan Skriniar, who has left Inter at the expiry of his contract at San Siro and will team up with Paris Saint-Germain for the 2023-24 campaign.
