Napoli vice-President Edoardo De Laurentiis confirms Juan Zuniga will leave the club in January.

The Colombian has not played for the Partenopei this season, and claims that Coach Maurizio Sarri is not allowed to pick him.

“He’ll leave in January,” De Laurentiis confirmed at an event at Università Parthenope.

“He has a calf problem and doesn’t have 90 minutes in his legs.

“January? On the transfer market we’re looking for someone who wants to emerge, not someone who could upset the harmony of the dressing room.

“Roberto Soriano? He didn’t accept Napoli. He waited until the last minute for the call of his former Coach [Sinisa Mihajlovic] at Milan. He screwed it up for himself.”

De Laurentiis also discussed last night’s win over Inter, in which Felipe Melo did not play after saying he’d have to beat up Gonzalo Higuain.

“It’s good that Felipe Melo didn’t play yesterday, [Roberto] Mancini was most likely punishing him for his statements.”

Finally, the vice-President took a swipe at Rafa Benitez, who left the club in the summer to join Real Madrid.

“At Real Madrid they’re not having a great campaign,” De Laurentiis pointed out.

“It was his choice to leave.”
