Zenga: ‘Sampdoria, change course’

Walter Zenga says Sampdoria must 'change the course of their championship' against Chievo in tomorrow's game.

The Blucerchiati play at 18:00, UK time at the Stadio Bentegodi, and will be trying to get back on track after a disappointing 1-1 draw against Empoli last Thursday.

“I expect an important performance, full of character, that of a team that wants to change the course of their championship,” he said in today's Press conference.

“I focus on ourselves rather than on the others. We prepared the game carefully.

“I focus on ourselves rather than on the others. We prepared the game carefully.

“Turnover? Everyone reasons their own way, changing one or more players. We have the energy to compete on Monday.

“I like Chievo a lot, they have a great Coach. We'll have to dominate in terms of play if we want to win at the Bentegodi

“[Rolando] Maran did some extraordinary things at Catania and then at Chievo. His team can never be ruled out of a game.

“Our game against Frosinone was excellent but the ending was terrible. Against Empoli the last 30 minutes were excellent.

“[Lorenzo] De Silvestri is working well. We're quickly approaching his return. We'll decide the date together.

“I'll draw conclusions after the November break, it's too early now.

“Fernando is a signing that I supported and which I insisted on. He's contributing greatly to the team, as is [Edgar] Barreto.”
