Zdenek Zeman was left to rue wasted opportunities against Inter, as “the first half could’ve ended 4-0” for Roma.

The Giallorossi dominated the opening 45 minutes, but only won the semi-final first leg 2-1.

“In the first half we used up a lot of energy and ran out of steam a little. We tried to score more goals, but were unable to do it.

“Erik Lamela worked hard and created three scoring opportunities, which is good for a striker. Unfortunately he was unable to finish them off.”

The second leg is at San Siro on April 17, as it was moved from the original January 30 date due to a schedule clash.

“We have an advantage and will try to increase it in the second leg. We did everything right in the first half and it could’ve ended 4-0 with no complaints.”

Zeman was spotted joking with Francesco Totti when the captain came off the pitch.

“I pointed out that with that powerful free kick he’d just fired into the wall, he was trying to kill one of our opponents, but that’s against the rules.”
