Wanda Icardi, the striker’s wife and agent, insisted this week that the Nerazzurri haven’t even offered a new deal, despite multiple reports there’s a €6m per season offer on the table.
“It’s a matter of respect, everyone must respect their role,” Zanetti said on Radio Deejay.

“It’s a matter of respect, everyone must respect their role,” Zanetti said on Radio Deejay.
“The most important thing is that Mauro is happy, we see can see by how he expresses his qualities that he’s very happy.”
Zanetti also discussed Jose Mourinho, the treble-winning Coach who was sacked by Manchester United yesterday.
“Mourinho will always remain a great Coach. He did well in Madrid and Manchester because he won a few trophies, then he had some difficulty in managing the group.
“All Coaches go through difficult periods, but knowing him he’ll want to get back to the top as soon as possible.
“I’m sorry, because we’re not used to seeing him like that.”
