The right-back has been a mainstay of the squad throughout former President Massimo Moratti’s tenure and, seven months after tearing his Achilles tendon, he’s back in the line-up.
“I am now just focusing on ending this season as best I can, then I’ll calmly think about what to do in future,” Zanetti told French newspaper L’Equipe.
“Today my ambition is just to be of use and another option for my team. I don’t know what I’ll do in future, but I have always said I’d like to remain within the Inter family.
“I think that when the moment comes, I will know what to do. In any case, I don’t see myself as a Coach.”
It is widely believed Zanetti will join the Nerazzurri Board of Directors when he retires.
