Zamparini: ‘We’ll divorce Rossi’

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini blasted referees, but also confirmed “if there are no changes then we'll divorce Delio Rossi.”

The Coach had already been fired and then re-hired after 35 days when Serse Cosmi lost three of the four games in charge.

“If there are no changes, then we'll divorce,” said Zamparini of Rossi.

“We will sit around the table at the end of the season when his contract expires, but clearly at the moment we are not in sync.

“Now our season is basically over and we just have to focus on reaching the Coppa Italia Final.

“We'll beat Milan 2-0 in the second leg. Regardless of who we face in the Final, whether it's Roma or Inter, we are the favourites for the trophy.”

Palermo drew the first leg of their semi-final 2-2 at San Siro, while the decider is in Sicily next week.

Zamparini also commented on his long-running feud with officials, who he say favour the top sides.

“I have been in football for 25 years and I always kid myself things will get better, but they never do.

“I have a compilation of 25 shocking refereeing errors against us this season. The people have to see what we're up against.”

However, the President also had words of criticism for his own players, who have conceded 58 goals this term. It's the second-worst defence in Serie A, beaten only by Lecce's 61.

“When I see our results, I often wonder if our players are training specifically to set a new record for goals conceded.”
