La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Tottenham are pushing to sign Nicolò Zaniolo from Roma, but the Giallorossi have rejected the latest bid from North London.
Fabio Paratici is a huge admirer of the Italy international and had already tried to sign him at Juventus.
As per La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper, Spurs have recently made an offer to get the 22-year-old on loan, but Roma are unwilling to sell, especially under Tottenham’s conditions.
The Premier League side have reportedly made a loan offer with an option to buy for €40m. The option would become mandatory if the Italy international plays 50% of Tottenham’s games as a starter and if Conte’s team qualifies for the Champions League this season.
These conditions are unconvincing for Roma who demand at least €10m to loan the player for one season, plus an option to buy in the region of €50m given that the Giallorossi value the 22-year-old at €60m.
Zaniolo has had a positive pre-season and is happy with the new purchases made by the Giallorossi. He is said to be on good terms with Paulo Dybala and José Mourinho is impressed by the attitude of the former Inter and Fiorentina starlet.
Therefore, despite Tottenham’s desire to sign him, it’s difficult to imagine Zaniolo joining Conte in North London this summer.
