Nicolas Pepe’s camp claims the Lille winger rejected Napoli because Arsenal’s offer was ‘more convincing, both financially and in terms of the sporting project.’
Pepe is on his way to Arsenal in an €80m deal after Napoli failed to agree personal terms with the Ivorian, although they too were prepared to meet Lille’s asking price.
It is also understood Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis was not keen on paying out so much in commission to the player’s representatives.
