The Serie A season kicks off this weekend and Milan will open their campaign against Bologna, but Yunus Musah will already be out due to suspension.
The Rossoneri visit the Stadio Dall’Ara on Monday August 21, kicking off at 19.45 UK time.
It will represent a Serie A debut for several of their summer signings, but Musah will be forced to wait a little longer.
The midfielder made the transfer from Valencia at a cost of €20m plus bonuses on August 4 and although he spent much of his childhood in Italy, he never played in the Italian professional leagues.
Musah was sent off in the final appearance he made for Valencia in a 1-1 draw with Real Betis, so that LaLiga suspension will now be passed on to Serie A.
It means he will sit out a one-match ban and be unavailable for this weekend’s fixture against Bologna.
Rade Krunic, who has been approached by Fenerbahce, is therefore likely to start in midfield with Tijjani Reijnders and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
