Why Bremer is perfect for Conte’s Tottenham

Tottenham have recently been linked with a move for Torino star Gleison Bremer and the move makes perfect sense for Antonio Conte’s side.

The 25-year-old Brazilian centre back is one of the hottest commodities in Italy this summer after an incredible Serie A season, where he proved himself to be one of the best defenders in the league. Bremer was the standout star in Torino’s squad this season and he’s ready for the jump to a top club now.

Bremer to Tottenham: Torino director ready to fly to London

Bremer is a well-rounded and physical defender who is incredibly adept at making interceptions (3.64 per 90 minutes on average), blocks (2.68 per 90), clearances (6.20 per 90) and winning aerial duels (4.80 per 90). He is also comfortable with the ball at his feet and moving forward, averaging 1.68 touches per 90 in the opponent’s penalty area, a sign of his attacking contribution.

Bremer would be an incredibly strong addition to Conte’s three-man backline, giving them security at the back and a progressive figure in transition. With an asking price of around €30-40m, the Brazilian centre back seems to be a bargain for Spurs.
