Atalanta, PSG and Real Madrid have won all their away games this season, but only La Dea have never conceded away from home.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s side shares the top of the table with Napoli, the only two unbeaten teams in Serie A so far.
La Dea secured a 1-0 win over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, confirming their perfect start away with four victories in four games.
That’s exactly the same record as Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid in Spain and PSG in Ligue 1. However, Gigio Donnarumma and Marco Verratti’s team have won five matches from five far from Paris.
Atalanta’s record is still more impressive given that, as Tuttosport newspaper points out, La Dea are the only team in Europe’s top five leagues not to have conceded away from home so far this season.
Aside from Roma, they also beat Sampdoria and Monza 2-0 and Verona 1-0.
Atalanta’s run should not come as a surprise, as La Dea have a solid record in away games since Gasperini was appointed in 2016. The 64-year-old has won 64 away games in Serie A out of 118 at the club.
