Benevento have lost their opening 13 Serie A games, breaking the record for worst start in a top five European league.
The newly-promoted side lost to Sassuolo in the last minute yesterday, to break a record set by Manchester United in the 1930-31 season.
Unfortunately for the Streghe, there are still several unwanted records they could accumulate before the end of the season.
The worst ever points total in the Italian top flight was Catania with 12 in the 1983-84 season, but that was in a 16-team Serie A with two points for a win.

The worst ever points total in the Italian top flight was Catania with 12 in the 1983-84 season, but that was in a 16-team Serie A with two points for a win.
Venezia got 16, also in the two points for a win era, while Pescara managed just 18 points last season.
With around a third of the season gone Benevento are still yet to pick up a single point, so those records are certainly within reach.
Roberto De Zerbi’s men have scored six goals so far, so they can hold out hope of getting the 19 they need in the remaining matches to avoid matching Treviso and Cesena for fewest goals in a 20 team Serie A.
At the other end though, 33 goals conceded so far leaves Benevento very much in danger of conceding more than the 89 Venezia conceded in 1959-60.
