Zlatan Ibrahimovic hasn’t scored a goal in Serie A for more than one year but will return for Milan against Torino tonight, being available for a competitive match for the first time in almost nine months.
The 41-year-old underwent knee surgery days after Milan’s Serie A title win last summer. His last Serie A appearance dates back to May 22, 2022, when he came off the bench in the final game of the season against Sassuolo, which ended with the Rossoneri lifting the Scudetto trophy at the Mapei Stadium.
This means it’s been almost nine months since the Swede played his last competitive match.
Ibra scored his last Serie A goal more than a year ago, in an away 3-0 victory against Venezia on January 9, 2022.
The Swede netted eight goals and delivered three assists in 27 appearances across all competitions in 2021-22 and could make his first appearance this season against Torino tonight.
He will be available for the match against the Granata but is expected to start on the bench.
