Lazio have identified Fotis Ioannidis as a strong candidate to replace Ciro Immobile, but now they’re facing competition from West Ham for the talented Panathinaikos striker.
Immobile has failed to impress with the Biancocelesti this term, managing just six goals across 27 Serie A matches, and his continued poor form has started to see faith in the Italian striker wane in the capital in recent months.
A growing number of Lazio fans are now hoping to see Immobile move on in the summer in order to allow Igor Tudor’s new project in the capital to develop, placing greater emphasis on backup option Valentin Castellanos.
West ham challenge Lazio
As reported by Football Insider, West Ham are seriously interested in signing Ioannidis from Panathinaikos in the summer, keen to pick up a new long-term replacement for Michail Antonio.
Lazio have been keeping an eye on the 24-year-old Panathinaikos striker for a little while now but may struggle to fight West Ham for his signature. The Hammers, whose scouts have been left impressed, are planning an offer of circa €20m in the summer.
