Ray Parlour has backed Arsene Wenger as the right sort of man manager to be able to work effectively with Mario Balotelli.
Reports continue to link Arsenal with a summer bid for the Milan forward and for one former Gunner, Balotelli’s previous disciplinary issues should be no concern under Wenger.
“Arsene Wenger is a very good man manager,” Parlour has explained this week to Talksport.
“On the pitch every day he will be there watching you train and, if you have any sort of problems, he’s easy to go and see.
“We all know Mario Balotelli’s record, but maybe he’s maturing a little bit now, who knows?
“He’s certainly a very good player. These days how many forwards are out there of the standard you need, and who can compete with Sergio Aguero, Luis Suarez and players like that?”
Balotelli’s previous spell in England ended in January 2013 after a training ground fight with Roberto Mancini, but Parlour believes Wenger has experience of handling such characters.
“He has had a few problems in the dressing room before. William Gallas, Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor were there and he managed to get them out, so it would be interesting to see what Arsene Wenger does [if he plays up].”
