Fiorentina host Milan on Saturday, when Dusan Vlahovic comes up against his idol Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the Artemio Franchi.
Vlahovic has returned from international duty – where he helped Serbia secure a place at the World Cup next year – and is currently preparing for the big game in Serie A against Milan.
The young striker has been linked with several giants across Europe after his impressive performances with the Viola and he gets another chance to shine against one of the big teams in Serie A this weekend.
Milan sit joint first with Napoli on 32 points after 12 games and the Rossoneri arrive in Florence unbeaten in the league.
All eyes will be on Vlahovic once again and this time he comes up against one of his idols, as Ibrahimovic continues to make an impact at San Siro.
The 40-year-old’s ‘desire to never give up’ has inspired Vlahovic and the Viola striker revealed the Swede was his biggest idol in the world of football during an interview with DAZN in September.
“I certainly like Ibra more for his character and the desire to never give up,” Vlahovic told the broadcaster.
“He never allowed anyone to command him, then the monstrous plays… Let’s leave it. When we lost 3-2 in Florence, I took the advantage of the fact that he might not be very angry and asked him for the shirt.
Vlahovic: ‘I stayed for Italiano, Ibra told me to never give up’
“He signed it for me, we took a photo and wrote the dedication in our language. He told me to continue and never give up. I’m not very good at speaking when I meet an idol.”
But Vlahovic can let his football do the talking at the Artemio Franchi this weekend, as he aims to build on the eight goals in 12 Serie A games so far.
