Roma legend Francesco Totti made a surprise appearance at a comic book festival disguised as a Roman legionary to mark the release of Gladiator II.

The 48-year-old famously has a tattoo of a gladiator on his arm, which he got after winning the Serie A title with his beloved Giallorossi in the Eternal City.

He also titled his autobiography ‘Gladiator’ when releasing his story.

Lucca Comics festival was held this week, bringing fans of the art form from all over the world, and there was a special presentation to celebrate the cinema release of Gladiator II.

It became extra special when the Roman legionary took off his mask to reveal he was Italy’s 2006 World Cup winner Totti.

He recently confessed that a comeback to the playing field could be on the cards, despite turning 48 last month.
