Fiorentina attacker Antonin Barak was sent off just 20 minutes into his first start for Czechia at EURO 2024 after committing two yellow card offences within nine minutes against Turkiye on Wednesday night.
The Viola man went into the book after 11 minutes for a pull on Ferdi Kadioglu before leaving a clumsy challenge on Borussia Dortmund’s Salih Ozcan for his second yellow.
Barak had been called into the Czechia starting line-up for the first time at EURO 2024, having come off the bench in both the 1-1 draw with Georgia and the 2-1 loss to Portugal in the opening round.
He will be suspended for the round of 16 should Czechia qualify, although they were ranked bottom of Group F on two points at the time of Barak’s sending off.
