Enrico Castellacci has confirmed Marco Verratti’s ankle injury may seen him drop out of the Italy squad, whilst Giacomo Bonaventura is also injured.
Verratti has reported in this morning at Coverciano with an ankle injury sustained during Paris Saint-Germain’s League match with Monaco last night.

On from carrying out tests on the issue, the national team’s chief medic addressed the media.
“He has suffered a strong blow to the ankle, to be precise, on the extensor tendon on the big toe,” Castellacci has confirmed to reporters today.
“We have done an MRI scan which has ruled out problems with the bone and ligaments.
“We are considering and deciding together with the Coach and the player to figure out if in this case he stays here or not.
“During this morning Bonaventura had a muscle problem and in the afternoon will have an MRI. Then we will have a meeting and will consider how his injury may evolve.”
Antonio Conte commented in today’s Press conference that Verratti’s injury may see him call up Andrea Pirlo in his place.
