Verona cancel Tunisia retreat

Verona have cancelled their Christmas retreat and a scheduled friendly in Tunisia due to ‘organisational problems’.

The Gialloblu were due to play against Club Africain on Sunday December 22 as a result of having no Serie A game to play.

This was because their scheduled fixture with Lazio was rearranged to February 5 in light of the Biancocelesti playing in the Italian Super Cup this weekend.

However, the club have put out a statement saying that their retreat, and subsequent friendly, has been cancelled.

“Verona FC communicates that unfortunately, due to organisational problems beyond our control, the scheduled retreat to Tunisia and planned friendly against Club Africain on Sunday December 22 has been cancelled.

“The Gialloblu will make up for the inconvenience by holding training sessions at the ‘Paradiso’ sports centre in Peschiera until Monday December 23.”
