Giampiero Ventura admits he “did not think we could lose” after leading with 11 minutes to go, but Torino were beaten 5-3 by Napoli.
The Granata had gone 3-2 up at the 79th minute of last night’s Serie A clash, but an Edinson Cavani brace turned it all around again.
“The same thing happened against Parma, as we had dominated the game and then gave away the result,” shrugged Coach Ventura.
“We were facing a much stronger side, so just being 3-2 up with 10 minutes to go was already a remarkable achievement.
“I didn’t think we could lose it at that point. We’ve got to look back and realise where we went wrong so that we can learn from it.
“A team also grows through these experiences. It’s a shame, as we reacted positively to go in front and then there was too much euphoria, so we made costly mistakes.
“It’s a pity, as the points would’ve been useful and a positive result good for our confidence. I’m happy that Paulo Barreto finally scored.”
Rolando Bianchi was again left on the bench and did not come on even as a substitute.
“Jonathas was really hungry and we opted for him. The Bianchi situation is unusual, as he is training professionally, but his contract expires in June and he cannot have the necessary adrenaline to deliver what we need.”
