“The game with Napoli is the toughest we could’ve had to salute our fans in the last home fixture of the season. Obviously the Partenopei won’t be happy with just a draw, so they will come here with the mentality of a knockout round.

“It’ll be a match that gives us the opportunity to test some players. If Kamil Glik is left out, he knows full well it’s not a snub, but just a chance to test our youngsters. If Pontus Jansson does well against Gonzalo Higuain, it means we’re on the right track.”

All eyes will also be on Nikola Maksimovic, who was the subject of a €20m offer from Napoli last summer.

“He is certainly a very important player, one who has attracted interest from the best clubs in Europe. Our project continues from year to year and it’s normal that there will be some changes.”

Joel Obi also returns to the squad, so the only absentee is Danilo Avelar.
