Ventura calls new Italy faces

Giampiero Ventura called up 23 players for his Italy get-together, including Federico Chiesa, Emerson Palmieri, Davide Calabria and Stephan El Shaarawy.

This is an opportunity for the CT to get a closer look at some players on the fringes of the Azzurri scene.

They will meet up at the Coverciano training ground on Monday evening and train until Wednesday.

There will be another get-together on May 2-3 and again on May 29-30 ahead of a friendly against San Marino on May 31 at the Stadio Castellani in Empoli.
