“Well, there's still a couple of weeks left of the transfer window and there is a chance… some clubs have shown interest in Alexis, so we'll see what happens,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports UK.
“Can't update you more than that.”
The figures all seem to be roughly the same in the Italian media, suggesting there is real credence to the reports.
It would be a free one-season loan with option to buy for €12-15m.
Crucially, Inter would only pay €4-5m of his salary for the season, with the other €6-7m covered by Manchester United.
All Manchester United players have it written into their contracts that they will lose 25 per cent of their wages if they fail to qualify for the Champions League, so it is a lower bill than it otherwise would’ve been.
Alexis Sanchez will be reunited with Romelu Lukaku, who just left Manchester United for Inter last week at a cost of €65m plus up to €13m in various bonuses.
The pair are very good friends and both felt increasingly frustrated with their roles at Old Trafford.
