Ulivieri: ‘Too many Coaches sacked’

Renzo Ulivieri, President of the Italian Coaches’ Association, says there have been “too many” tacticians fired in Serie A this season.

Renzo Ulivieri, President of the Italian Coaches’ Association, says there have been “too many” tacticians fired in Serie A this season.

On Monday Sinisa Mihajlovic was axed by Fiorentina to make way for Delio Rossi, following on from the sacked Roberto Donadoni, Stefano Pioli, Gian Piero Gasperini, Pier Paolo Bisoli and Marco Giampaolo.

“Six dismissals at the 11th round is too many,” blasted Ulivieri. “The responsibility becomes clear for us Coaches, but others have their faults somewhat disguised.

“Unfortunately with Fiorentina the situation had been heading in this direction for a month. Italian football is overheated, as there is less patience than ever before.

“The work of a tactician needs time to develop and all too often he is not allowed it.”
