UEFA Nation’s League: Italy to host England at San Siro

Italy’s UEFA Nations League clash with England on Sept. 23 will take place at San Siro, the FIGC announced on Friday.

The two sides are paired in Group A3 alongside Hungary and Germany and this will be their third match of the campaign.

Roberto Mancini’s side beat Belgium in the last campaign to finished third – the same as England managed in 2019 with victory over Switzerland.

Italy, who beat the Three Lions in the Euro 2020 final at Wembley but then failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, kick off their campaign with the visit of Germany on June 4 before welcoming Hungary three days later and then travelling to London on June 11.

The Azzurri will be looking to become only the second nation after France to win the World Cup, European Championship and UEFA Nations League.

Before the tournament kicks off, Italy will be facing Copa America winners Argentina in the Finalissima at Wembley on June 1.
