Udinese: ‘Take 24 hours over Oddo’

Udinese confirm the club will “take 24 hours to decide” on Coach Massimo Oddo after an 11th straight defeat.

Today’s shock 2-1 home loss to Crotone, a game they had been leading 1-0 through a Kevin Lasagna goal, left the Friulani in the thick of the relegation battle.

It is also an historic 11th Serie A defeat in a row, fuelling rumours Oddo will be sacked to make way for Andrea Stramaccioni.

It is also an historic 11th Serie A defeat in a row, fuelling rumours Oddo will be sacked to make way for Andrea Stramaccioni.

“It is a particularly complicated moment and we are disappointed at this situation,” director general Franco Collavino told Sky Sport Italia.

“We have decided not to make any statements for 24 hours, preferring to take 24 hours to decide and not do anything in the heat of the moment.

“The protest from the fans is also disappointing, as the Friulano crowd has always behaved with great civility, even during this period. We are terribly upset and heard that a steward was also injured.

“It’s difficult to evaluate at a time like this, as after 11 consecutive defeats, it seems as if we’re missing absolutely everything. That is not the case and we prefer to wait a few hours so we can evaluate everything calmly.

“It’s evident the situation is critical, but we are still four points off the relegation zone and have several games to play. We aren’t relegated yet, we can still turn this around.”
