Udinese fans have been praised for their reaction after Even Ndicka collapsed on Sunday when the whole crowd muted, and the Roma doctor needed silence to take the defender’s pulse.

Udinese-Roma was called off at minute 72 on Sunday when the Giallorossi defender Ndicka collapsed with worrying chest pain.

Tests undergone at the Udinese hospital in the evening ruled out a heart attack, but the situation was not entirely clear in the early stages when players and staff members were visibly worried about the defender’s condition.

The Bluenergy Stadium was sold out, with 25,000 fans in the stands. As reported by Il Corriere dello Sport, they all muted when the Giallorossi doctor asked for silence to take Ndicka’s pulse.

Fans and pundits on social media have been praising Udinese fans for their behaviour and some, including Enrico Mentana, one of the most famous journalists in Italy, remembered how the Bianconeri supporters entirely changed their attitude compared to this past January, when a home game against Milan was temporarily suspended due to racist insults aimed at Milan keeper Maignan from the home crowd.
