Massimo Orlando has hailed the prospect of Vincenzo Montella, Borja Valero and Gonzalo Rodriguez all remaining at Fiorentina.

The former Viola player was reacting to comments made today by President Mario Cognigni that there is no chance Coach Montella will be leaving the club.

In addition, he is also reported to have said that playing duo Valero and Rodriguez have signed new contracts with the Florence outfit.

“I think that this is a triple piece of great news,” Orlando proclaimed. “It shows the strength of a club that is aiming for the continuity of a project that has shown itself to be a winning formula.

“Valero and Rodriguez are two extraordinary players who are wanted by big clubs and Fiorentina have done well to ensure they are staying here.

“This is especially true of the Spanish midfielder, who is a critical component of the team.

“Montella in these two seasons has shown he has everything needed to be the Coach of a great team, but that is what Fiorentina is.

“His recent words have been normal demands by a Coach and now they seem like good news for the fans.

“Fiorentina will continue with Montella and his project. This team and this club can aim even higher than the fourth place they have achieved in the last two seasons.”
