“I was contacted by the Greece Federation who asked if I was available,” Trap told the Corriere dello Sport.
“I replied that I was, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I will be chosen as the next Coach of Greece.
“I still have the desire to teach football.”
Ranieri was sacked after Friday night’s shock 1-0 home defeat to the Faroe Islands in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.
