Roma captain Francesco Totti has expressed his disappointment with the departure of Coach Luis Enrique.
The two men did have difficulties in their relationship at the start of the season, but the veteran went on to prove himself to the Spaniard before Enrique left after Sunday’s win at Cesena.
“We were hoping that Luis Enrique would stay,” the 35-year-old is quoted as saying. “There was a great human relationship with him.

“However, he has made a personal decision and everyone should accept that.”
With the Roma hot-seat now vacant, the club are considering recalling Vincenzo Montella after his season at Catania.
“He’s already proved what kind of Coach he is,” the 2006 World Cup winner added. “When he worked here before, I was dropped in his first game…
“I’m sure he will do whatever he feels like doing because I know Vincenzo’s character and it’s a good one.”
Roma finished the campaign in seventh and failed to qualify for Europe for the first time in 15 years.
“The season ended as it did,” Totti, with eight Serie A goals this term, added. “Now we’ll meet up again in July and hopefully we’ll do better.”
