Francesco Totti is “proud” to have spent his entire career at Roma, even if “it’s always more difficult to win here.”

The captain spoke to Sky Sport Italia and revealed he followed in the footsteps of another home-grown Giallorossi legend.

“My idol was Giuseppe Giannini, even if he played in a different role. I studied his every moment and position on the field, as he played with his head up.

“Undoubtedly the greatest satisfactions of my career were winning the World Cup and the Scudetto. I’m proud of what I have achieved and to always play for the same team in my career.

“However, it’s always more difficult to win here.”

Totti also considered the toughest moment of his long career.

“Certainly straight after my ankle injury, as I really risked having to retire. Instead I came back just as good as before.”
