Francesco Totti said Roma wanted to beat Juventus “at all costs” and proved “we are at the same level.”

Gervinho’s late goal proved enough for a 1-0 Coppa Italia quarter-final victory at the Stadio Olimpico, just two weeks after their 3-0 Serie A defeat in Turin.

“It was a victory we wanted at all costs. We changed from the defeat in Turin and tonight proved we are at the same level as a great Juve,” Totti told Rai Sport.

“I don’t see much of a distance between us, as eight points can be a lot or a little. We are having a great campaign, they are going beyond the limits.

“Obviously if we continue the way we did in the first half of the season, then we’d be close to Juve. If Juventus continue like this, then it’s tough.

“This was a one-off match to reach the semi-final and we wanted it at all costs.”

Roma will take on either Lazio or Napoli in the two-legged semi-final next month.

“All the other teams ought to be worried when facing us.”
