Francesco Totti urged Roma to keep hold of Pablo Daniel Osvaldo and won’t let go of Champions League dreams after tonight’s win in Florence.

Osvaldo popped up with the decider deep into stoppages for a 1-0 victory over fourth-placed Fiorentina.

“It takes a bit of everything to win these games and it is proof we too can have our say. We’ll try to end the season in the best way possible,” said the captain.

The Giallorossi consolidated fifth position and are now only four points adrift of Milan, who are still to play Torino on Sunday.

“The season isn’t over yet, so the closer you get to something, the more you believe in it. We must above all focus on the Europa League, as that is our target right now, then we have the Coppa Italia Final to play.”
Osvaldo has been under fire this year with a section of the fans and local media eager to push him out. He has been linked with the likes of Tottenham, Juventus, Napoli and Fiorentina.

“I am on his side. He is my friend and a strong player who is part of the squad, though of course it’s up to the club to make a decision,” said Totti.

“I hope he can remain with us, because it’s difficult to find someone of this quality.”
